Local Contest 03/10/2007
We finally got our first EZG contest flown today - the wind did NOT help. We
tried using the new hi-start but with a strong tail wind we just could not get
safe and consistent launches. We decided that the winch would pull the EZG up
even with a downwind launch. We finished the flying with the winch and everyone
did a great job of launching and flying under somewhat difficult conditions.
Several of the guys who flew have not yet completed their EZG so we loaned them
ours.
After today's flying, our President Rick Stone became the worlds newest
LSF Level II flyer. Rick had already completed the requirements with the
exception of needing
one more contest. Today was that 'one more contest'. "Congratulations Rick".
I chose a simple format for today's contest. Three rounds of 3, 4 and 5 minutes
duration with landing points.
The results are:
1. Ed Jennings* - 735
2. Ray DiNoble - 615
3. Rick Stone - 555
4. John Wynn - 545
5. Roger Taylor - 380
6. Pat Brooks* - 370
7. Tod Anderson - 360
8. Greg Clemensen* - 300(flew one round only as the wind really started to blow)
Where * = flew a borrowed plane.
